I put together an “after patriotic decor and before fall decor” look for my mantel. Lol. I had this fruit wall hanging already. So after choosing this as my focal point, I just went through my stuff and gathered up some like colors. Even someone who thinks they can’t decorate can do this my friends! Once you have your pieces, just layer them in with some varying heights and make sure to add in some basic core colors such as black, white, brown, etc. It is really that easy! Find a spot in your house and try it yourself!

I like to “build” a centerpiece for my dining table. Meaning that I start with something basic and within the same color scheme. I then add some pops of color if I wanted to. Since I was decorating for the 4th I added some red. I just pulled items I already had to give it that festive look that I wanted. Another tip from me.....”build” your centerpiece on a tray or platter. If you need to clear your table for dinner, it makes it super easy to move and you will not have to rebuild the setting! ❤️

I threw together my patriotic decor on my faux fireplace yesterday. You don’t have to have a lot or spend a lot to change out decor for a holiday or for just a change when incorporating vintage pieces. Take a walk into a flea market or antique shop and take a look at the different booths. Find some staple pieces like bottles, jars, old books, collectors tins, wood drawers, flower frogs, etc., use those pieces to build your decor from. Then if shopping for a specific holiday or event, look for items with a key color scheme or theme and add a few of those to your decor. You will have spent hardly anything and will have some pieces that no one else has and that can be reused for another time. If you really have no idea what to look for when shopping, message me! When I downsized this past fall, my kitchen had far less storage than my previous home. So I had to figure out some creative ways to store all of my kitchen gear. Pots and pans always take up a lot of space in a cabinet. I had this baby bed spring and decided to make use of it! My parents helped me attach it to the wall and I just use S-hooks to hang the pans from it. I went with black and white with accents of copper for my kitchen. So I bought all new pans because it was time to do so! It also makes me keep my pans in great shape since they are on display! It’s not for everyone, but I love it! .

The full view of my living room gallery wall. I love a good gallery wall. They are not for everyone though. I’ve had a couple of people tell me that “it’s too much” or “they don’t like it”. Well to each their own and guess what I like it. The only reason why I did this particular wall was because I was trying to hide the fact that my heating and air vent is on that wall. So it did its purpose and it makes me smile. That’s all that matters. 😊
