Happy New Year, Friends!

It has been way way too long since I have posted on here but I have been in full survival mode over the holiday season if we are being honest. I'm sure I can't be alone on that right?

I'm looking forward to kicking things off again in January with room refreshes, simplifying spaces, how to declutter the clutter you thought you already decluttered and how to organize when you are working in small areas!

Plus I have a few projects up my sleeve 💪🥰

Hi Friends!

I apologize for my lack of posting lately, I will be fully transparent with you all. I have felt God tugging at me a lot lately, asking me to pour into others, asking me to share my testimony, asking me to listen to Him more closely and that is exactly what I have been doing. I have pulled away from social media a bit and really put my focus into myself, the Gospel and God. I have also been doing a ton of reading lately and in my readings I came across a message that really spoke to me at this pivotal time in my life and I felt called to share it with you all "You can make many plans but the Lord's purpose will prevail" Proverbs 19:21. I share that because we live in a world where we often feel we must know our next move, we have to have a full calendar, we don't necessarily enjoy the spaces in between. We struggle with stillness, our thoughts get ahold of us in the midst of silence but if we truly let go of the need to always know, the need to always see what's next, the need to fill the calendar, the need to have it all figured out, the need for it to be perfect, the need to make every gathering and to never turn down an invitation simply because how we will be viewed if we do than when we let go God's plan can flourish. That is when our true purpose can happen, our true desires can come true, our true meaning, our prayers can be heard, our struggles can end, our calendars cam be filled with the things that fill our cups not drain them and we can live a life so rich that we have no choice but to be grateful. So today I challenge you, sit still, cancel your plans, say no for once, redirect your focus and let God show you your true purpose ❤️🙏

Happy Sunday Friends and most importantly, Happy Fall!

I hope where ever you live you start to see cooler temperatures 🙌

One thing I have always loved about Fall is the color palette of the season; the warmer tones even though the temperatures get cooler....ironic huh?

This wall is snapshot of a client project I did recently and when I look at it I immediately feel relaxed which was exactly my goal. I wanted to create a space for this couple where they could unwind, relax and have a space that was truly made just for them not as mom and dad but as husband and wife.

Minimalistic Tip - when it comes to wall decor, people often feel the need to put something on every wall for the fear of the room not looking complete when what actually ends up happening is the room becomes crowded, overwhelmed and the space gets lost for it's true purpose. So this is me telling you, it's okay for a blank wall. Let it be ✌️

Let's play a game! How much do you think this dining room refresh cost?

Most people tend to avoid solid woods, modern finishes and updating things like paint and lighting because they are afraid of the cost but what if I told you that you can make a room inviting, modern and minimalistic without breaking the bank?

It's a process I have often called "flip for finds"

This is my dining room, I knew I wanted to change everything about it but when I priced out this room from top to bottom the total was $2,154. So instead I went through the room to see what I could flip to use that money to find what I needed.

Here is a few tips for designing on a budget -
1. Invest your money on the pieces that get the most use.
2. Don't clutter your space it actually creates anxiety (fun fact) it's okay to have empty wall space, corners or even tabletops.
3. Pull out accent colors from rugs or from a piece of art it's a great way to tie a room together.
4. Last but certainly not least, spend time in your space, if it feels stale or if you don't see your self sitting and enjoying it with your friends and family...change up the lighting to warmer lighting, bring in warmer decor, earth tones are calming to the mind!

Now that I've given you some tips and a few hints...drop your guesses below! Closest guess to what I spent on this room will get a 15 min consult with me on a small space of your choice (bathroom, closet, laundry, entryway)

Hi everyone! Welcome to Anew Design Co! The majority of you if not all of you already know me but if you don't I will introduce myself. My name is Jessica Duvall, most call me Jess. I am the founder of Anew Design Co. I am married to my wonderful husband and we have two kiddos. Interior design and decorating has been my passion since I was a child, I can remember decorating my childhood home and redecorating my friends homes, ha! I have always wanted to start my own business and branch into the interior design space but I have spent the last 15 years in the Professional Beauty Industry where I still am very much involved and although I love it, this has always been my passion project so to speak.

I am in the process of getting everything up and running over the next few weeks and once I am ready to start taking design consults I will let everyone know. I am waiting to be verified by Google before I do anything else :)
