Formline Evolved

Native American Artist, specializing in Modern Tlingit and Haida Designs Gunalchéesh (thank you) for visiting my store and supporting my art!

My name is Wéidaaká Yóodóohaa (Bill Pfeifer, Jr) and I am a Tlingit tribal member from southeast Alaska. I like to share my passion for formline art, a unique and ancient style of the Native people of the Northwest Coast of North America. I currently live in Washington, but I still feel a strong connection to my culture and my homeland. My father is an artist and he taught me the basics of formline design, which expresses the stories, values and beliefs of my people. I also had the privilege of studying under Nathan Jackson, a renowned Tlingit master carver, who has done totem pole carvings with my father. I work with digital tools like Photoshop and Illustrator to produce colorful and dynamic designs, inspired by the long tradition of formline art. I want to share this art with a wider audience and spread awareness and appreciation of my culture. You can find some of my prints available for purchase on etsy, or follow me on Instagram to see more of my work and get updates on new projects.

When SHI revealed the Celebration 2026 logo last week, I was grateful to see the response! The image is only half the story.
Today, I’m sharing the deeper story behind it: the meaning, the forms, and the choices that shaped this piece.
