New season, so many changes… time to introduce myself again! 💗
Hi, I’m Deejay, founder of Key West Candle & Bath Company in Old Town Key West! We’ve officially outgrown our little pink house kitchen and now call 1011 Whitehead Street home.
I’m also a mom of two! We welcomed our son last December, then opened our working studio just six weeks later. Postpartum and opening a retail store wasn’t on my bingo card, but this year has taught me one thing: I can do hard things.
Now in my sixth year of business, I keep thinking… wasn’t I just pouring candles on a pop-up table in my kitchen? 🥹
Since the beginning, I’ve dreamed of a studio that felt like an old pink Key West bathroom, with the excitement of a candy shop. Somewhere you could smell everything, watch us work, and feel part of what we’re creating by hand.
More than anything, I want my kids to see their mom chasing a dream. Yes, it’s hard. Yes, it takes sacrifice. But watching that dream become real makes it worth it.
And we’re growing! 🫧
Our bathroom amenities are now in 125 island homes, and we’re providing hand soap to four major local bars and restaurants!
Our bar soaps launch October 25th, with salt scrubs arriving before the holidays. We’re still pouring all your favorite candles, too!
