Our Carter boy is home. He is healing while we still work on answers.
If there is something that he reminds me of often, hold your babies tight and love them even harder.
The anxiety that I felt walking in to a hospital that once felt as a prison for our family. How one building can hold so much trauma and desperation for a family. A place that I desperately cried everyday leaving, as Carter had to stay behind in the NICU. Those monitors turn into triggers, each alarm leaving your heart sinking more and more.
This week was totally unexpected, I never thought we would be going back to a hospital and it feel like so soon. The needles, Ivs, ct scans, mris, all the things that seems so big when life was just “normal” the day before. Follow ups, referrals to specialists, leaving with more questions than answers. Being told there is nothing we can do to treat this, is the harshest sentence a parent can hear. Knowing only prayer will heal the body of your babies. What I would give to take any pain and suffering away for my boys.
Tonight I find myself taking a step away while dad has the boys. I am re doing the racks, and putting out new clothing.
Color coordinating the clothing racks is a therapy for me. I look at it as an art. The different colors, textures and patterns. How you can take a group of products and turn it into something beautiful. When the racks are in need I feel a bit of chaos lol.
Right now I am healing while being in the store. Learning more from what we’re going through. Seeing how I can grow as a mom, wife and person. I sit in my thoughts and try to process it all, while the noise from the world is silenced for a bit.
I just want to say again, thank you for your support. I will never be able to put together enough words to express to all of you how much you help on the rough patches of life.
If you can take anything away from this post, I pray you choose to show kindness in this world. You TRULY never know what someone is going through.
We have more specialists appointments for Carter but I am hoping to be in the store more next week to see all of you.
I hope you have a blessed weekend 🫶🏻
