Every year I visit my favorite beech trees and photograph them. Through the years they have taught me about resilience, stoicism, and endurance. These old, majestic trees are under threat by a variety of pests and, in recent years, drought conditions.

This year I really saw the wounds. Wounds similar to our wounds. I found a beauty in them. A fascination similar to my fascination around tattoos. Herein lies a story that is personal to the tree. What do you make of it?

I will continue to share more about this in my upcoming posts.

The rivers are full with all the rain these past few weeks. So grateful for it as so many parts of the country are in a draught. This is the first year I haven’t had to schlepp tons of water to the garden. Plus, these beautiful flowers near the river are so full and lovely.

Too funny! Plants will make us do crazy things!

Well back to my spring life. My garden life. My plant life. For the past month or so it has been everything to do with plants and the welcoming in of this new season. I’ve been blessed to work side by side with other women who share the same passion. Lots of plant babies joined hundreds or more gardens through the work of the North Stonington Garden Club and Hunts Brook Farm! It’s been so rewarding!

This was a peek at a recent visit to the Kinney Azalea Garden! Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area!

What a project!
