These past few months, we’ve been going back and forth between the Loire Valley and Provence.

After many trips, countless meetings, and enough French paperwork to make “it’s complicated” feel like an official administrative term, we still can’t quite believe we’re saying this, but…

we’ll be moving in two weeks!

For a while now, we’ve been thinking about how L’Impatience could grow beyond the studio, and when we found this property last summer, it immediately felt like the right place for that to happen.

It will be our home, of course, but also the future home of L’Impatience. A place where we can welcome more people in through stays, workshops, gatherings, and many other things we’ve been wanting to build around it.

We’re calling it Domaine L’Impatience.

More soon. And for those who want to follow this new chapter more closely,

What a year. When 2025 began, we had no idea we’d finish it fully moved back to France 🇫🇷

The first months were intense and exhilarating. Launching our speakers Mutual Core at felt unreal, a true milestone for us (and yes, we’re still pinching ourselves about the NYC Design Week award).
At the same time, watching grow was pure joy. Seeing our students and members experiment, get lost in the process, and glow with excitement reminded us of when we first discovered ceramics. That feeling of never wanting to stop.

After two years without a real break, our trip to France this summer felt like a deep breath. And it changed everything.
We visited a property that completely shifted how we imagined our future. Moving back had always lived quietly in the background. Being closer to family, reconnecting with a country we left so young… But it never felt like the right moment… until this summer.

Suddenly, a new version of L’Impatience appeared: in Provence, surrounded by vineyards and lavender fields, welcoming guests, hosting workshops, and maybe even weddings…Not just a studio, but a place to gather.

There’s still a long road ahead (hello, French bureaucracy…We had almost forgotten 😅). Nothing is guaranteed, and we’re trying not to get our hopes too high. But we’re working very hard to push it forward, and for now, the path seems to be opening. And if it doesn’t? The seed has been planted for what the future could become.

Stay tuned, we can’t wait to tell you more about it. 2026 is shaping up to be an exciting one.

Sending love from France. Here’s to cozy holidays and a New Year full of good surprises ✨♥️

We have a big announcement to share.

This fall, we’re moving back to France.

After 17 years in the U.S. and Canada, our time here has shaped us as artists and as people. What began as an exploration in clay grew into a full-scale studio, a ceramics community, and eventually into projects like Mutual Core, our first loudspeaker bringing together our love of music and ceramics.

The journey has been incredible, but also intense. Running two studios while living far from family has stretched us thin, and now feels like the right moment to restructure, to bring life and work into better balance, and to refocus on the projects that matter most.

Relocating L’Impatience to France isn’t an ending — it’s a continuation. Our work will grow in new contexts, with new energy and inspiration, in Europe and beyond. Mutual Core will continue, alongside the sculptural and functional ceramics at the heart of our practice.

We’re so grateful for the friends, collaborators, and community who have supported us here. Over the years, we’ve had the chance to work alongside incredible people — from fellow artists and designers to restaurants, shops and makers — each collaboration adding something special to our story. Just as meaningful has been the everyday rhythm of the studio: students learning clay for the first time, friends dropping by, and the conversations that shaped our work as much as the pieces themselves..

And while this is a big transition, we still have a little time left in Kingston. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be wrapping up the studio (with plans to close by the end of October), offering our final workshops — so if you’ve been thinking about taking a class, now’s the moment — and organizing a big studio sale of both ceramics and equipment (feel free to reach out if you’re interested in anything).

This next chapter feels full of possibility, we have so many ideas brewing for L’Impatience in France, and we can’t wait to share it with you. Most of all, thank you, for supporting us, collecting our work, showing up, and cheering us on. Your support has meant the world, and we’re so grateful to have shared this journey with you.

With love,

Benedicte & Jerome ♥️

Finally posting these.
We’ve been so focused on launching our speakers that we hadn’t taken the time to properly capture and share this body of work: Sinuvia.

These sculptures were born from a desire to let the material lead, allowing gravity, pressure, and chance to shape each piece. What began as structured vessel forms gave way to movement, collapse, and the unexpected. Sinuvia explores that tension, between construction and transformation, function and sculpture, control and release.
