There’s something about the first seedlings pushing through the soil that feels a lot like hope. 🌱

A few tiny greens are popping up in the beds and flowers are starting to bloom around the house. Little reminders that growth always comes back around.

The garden is waking up and I’m excited to share the journey with you this season.

🌶️ Spicy Skillet String Beans (Cast Iron Goodness) 🌶️

Threw this together in my cast iron and WOW. Creamy, spicy, and full of flavor — perfect as a side or eaten straight from the pan (no judgment).

Ingredients:
• Fresh string beans
• Cherry tomatoes
• Red pepper flakes (to taste)
• Turmeric
• Sandy Bottoms Low Down Grit (for thickening & flavor)
• Vanilla Greek yogurt
• Olive oil or butter
• Salt (to taste)

How I made it:

1️⃣ Heat a cast iron skillet over medium heat with a drizzle of olive oil or butter.

2️⃣ Add string beans and sauté until they start to blister and soften.

3️⃣ Toss in cherry tomatoes and cook until they burst and get saucy.

4️⃣ Sprinkle in turmeric, red pepper flakes, and a pinch of salt. Stir well.

5️⃣ Lower the heat and add a spoonful of Sandy Bottoms Low Down Grit to lightly thicken the sauce.

6️⃣ Stir in vanilla Greek yogurt until everything turns creamy and coats the beans.

7️⃣ Simmer a few minutes, adjust seasoning, and serve hot.

✨ Spicy, creamy, slightly smoky, and SO comforting.
