My cat, Pig, will only drink from the upstairs bathroom sink. This is extremely irritating and disruptive to my morning routine. I have to personally accommodate and pander to this little furry demon’s hydration needs on a daily basis when there is perfectly good drinking water in his water bowl.
I thought that it may be due to water supply difference - in the UK, in some older homes, the upstairs water supply is fed from a tank or cylinder in the loft space - but it’s a modern house and all water supply is from the mains water supply.
I then went through a process of elimination of bowl material:
I swapped plastic for metal, no bueno.
I swapped metal for ceramic, not remotely close and a cigar certainly wasn’t on the cards.
We then opted for one of those flash cat fountains off of a well-known online retailer. Unfortunately this modern-technological supposed solution to my problem required mains power. When plugged in, it illuminated itself in an aura of blue light and let out an ominous whir. The cat was terrified of it. Needless to say it stood next to his food bowl, unused, for many days.
What, Dull Men’s Club, do I need to do to get my cat drinking out of a bowl like a normal pet?
