The other day, a friend said to me, “Have you ever made purse charms?” I told her no, but then when I got home, I remembered about these bag charms / key rings that I made a few months ago. So I decided to list them. They’re made with handmade ceramic face-beads. They also feature authentic stone beads, wood beads and upcycled vintage glass beads.

Do you like dragons?
I made this in 2023 with . I didn’t know how I wanted to glaze it so it sat on my shelf until I was recently inspired to glaze it. I pulled it out of the kiln a few hours ago. What do you think?

I decided to make my head (see previous post) into an angel that you can hang on the wall. Looking at the photo now, I worry that I didn’t put the wings on evenly. Story of my life.

Just finished a weekend (2-day) workshop with at learning how to carve a human head. It was challenging. But, I’m happy with the results. It’s going to hang on the wall. I’m contemplating making it into an angel or a wall vase (or both).

About 1.5 weeks ago I posted some photos of a sculpture I was working on in a class in Los Angeles. I drove it home and when I got home, both legs broke. 😱 But, I drenched them with water, slapped some clay on them, cover them in plastic so that the water could equalize in the old and new clay, and prayed to the goddess of clay. Today, I uncovered it, and worked on the legs some more. The top and bottom piece aren’t fitting together as perfectly as they did before the break, but overall I am pleased. When I’m sure it’s dry, I will fire it.

I’ve been MIA this week because I have been down in Los Angeles building big. That’s the name of the class: “Build Big.”
I’ve been working on a sculpture and learning how to create something large. This will be a dog riding on a rocket ship and flying over the moon.I think it’s appropriate because NASA recently announced plans to build a base on the moon. They plan to start shipping construction supplies in 2027.

For Mug Shot Monday I sent you with…..a mug!
My husband and I don’t use mugs because we don’t drink hot beverages. Is there anyone else who also doesn’t drink hot beverages or do you all use mugs?
My inquiring mind wants to know.
