The Creative Naiad

The Creative Naiad Laurie works with the natural dyeing process that focuses on slow fashion, nontoxic to the environment, and recycling clothing.

Laurie works with a variety of mediums on paper, canvas, and natural fibers. She offers classes and sells her art locally. A Naiad, is a water Nymph from classical mythology. She is said to call rivers, springs, or waterfalls her home. Laurie finds her most peace and creative thought in nature and water, a place that feeds her soul.

I have been rereading The Lord of the Rings trilogy, starting with The Hobbit.

From The Hobbit: "It is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay. Small acts of kindness and love."

As spring wakes up the earth, stop and look at and smell the newly blooming flowers, at night look up at the vast stars, smile at a stranger, bake cookies for a neighbor. It starts with each of us tending our own hearth.
