why did I start ‘pine & piper’ and why you should shop verses the other door signs out there (because there are a ton)
the first two images show the boards I used for all of my signs, a solid unfinished pine board. the other images are the boards 95% of other sellers use, 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick, MDF/jute/plywood material, which tends to be less durable, lighter, and frankly much cheaper to buy on the sellers end. while these are still beautiful signs and great work by these sellers, I wanted to create something that you don’t have to replace every season because it faded, broke, or couldn’t outlast the elements (or in my experience blew so hard in the wind that it just got destroyed). most of the signs I have found on Etsy and other sites similar to mine are costing the same or 10-15$ more than what I charge.
In my opinion, (mind yall I just graduated college so I am counting my pennies and dimes), $50 is a good chunk of change, so I wanted to offer something that is durable, custom, and weighted enough to withstand the weather( but not too heavy to fall off the door). Although these boards to purchase cost a few dollars more each, I’d rather sell something I am proud of and make a little less.
So if the name ‘Pine and Piper Designs’ seemed a little random, this is why (my dad raised a good question here). The pine boards I used I feel is different from the others you may see, and for a good reason. Oh and the last picture is just to show off my rescue dog named Piper in case anyone cares LOL

(again- all of the work below is stunning!! I am positive those sellers put a ton of love and effort into to their work, it’s just to compare the differences between others and what I offer and what I feel like makes us special:))
