Have any of you ever wondered about the meaning behind our logo? If you have, guess no longer! While we designed our logo, we made sure there was plenty of meaning packed into this mark.

To start, this business was built from our knowledge gained in Pop-Pop Huegel’s woodshop and learning to work with tools and wood in our dad’s basement. That is why there are three trees within the icon. Each represents the three generations of our family that are rooted in handcrafts.

And that’s not the only meaning either! Did you know that Huegel is a full-on German name? Furthermore, did you know that it means to live on the top of a hill? That is why the “H” is woven within the top of the curved lines (hills) on which it “lives” fully representing the Huegel name.

This is who we are and what we believe in. Quality handcrafts that are rooted in tradition and family.

Now, you can represent the Huegel Handcrafted brand and story on your choice of an Oxford Black (pictured), Heather Midnight Navy, Heather Forest, Dark Grey Heather, or Army Green tee!

Has anyone else started scouting for the 2022 season?

This year we're starting with a blank slate and open minds.

Both of us are also training for a 10-day elk hunt in the Colorado Rocky Mountains this September. That means we'll be accompanied with 35+lbs packs as we gain intrigue on our PA Public Land whitetail locations.

It's gonna be quite the summer of tracking and training. Which of us brothers would you bet on cutting our luscious long locks first as we combat the heat while getting in shape for vigorous CO hiking through the summer?

This release goes out to the largest mammal in all of North America; The bison... one of the most iconic protectors of some of our most pristine public lands.

While there are no bison currently in our neck of the woods, they did once roam the mountain slopes and valleys of Pennsylvania.

We chose to do a line fully inspired by the bison as it shows an animal that illustrates the impacts that wildlife conservation creates. The rebound from these efforts over the last 100 years has increased their populations, reintroduced them to original habitats, and helped conservationists better understand how to assist other species to hold a healthy herd.

While these results have created hope, we also think it is always important to remember the haunting reasons that these majestic grazers were almost wiped out of America from the fur trade and industrial hunting. These mistakes inflicted on the bison in the past are what drive us in the present. Destruction of the lives and habitats of wildlife needs to continue to be kept in check. With every one of our shirts purchased, 10% of the profits will be donated back to conservation efforts.

These behemoths of the plains have also been Doug's favorite animal since before he can remember. He illustrated each of these graphics by diving into the relationship between Mother Nature and this powerful creature she created.

Hyper-minimal or Semi-minimal?

The Archer (left) is our simplest design while the Scout (right) offers more pockets and size. Both are available on our website.

When we started designing our wallets, limiting the amount of weight, pocket space, and items we carried was the goal. We are never ones to carry more than we need; only the everyday essentials are packed into our wallets.

After personally using our own wallets for the last two years, we have never run into an issue with not having the right ID, cash, credit card, etc. because of limited space. These wallets have always come through. Our customers have said the same.

We have found that being intentional with the items that we carry on us has brought more awareness what we need and has made it easy to move away from carrying pointless bulk around with us on the daily.

Pintail Waterfowl-Edition "Scout" Wallet will release tomorrow at 3PM!

Sitting on the water, these long-necked ducks have a timeless slate and chocolate brown coloring. Once a male takes flight, a strip of olive green appears on the back of their wings. This strip inspired the pocket hidden on the inside of this wallet.

The colors that this bird added to our "Scout" wallet dropped our jaws to the floor. It's going to be bitter-sweet watching this wallet leave the shop but we'll be happy to send it to anyone who appreciates the connection!

Just like last year, it's been tough getting on those gobbles. Has anyone else been experiencing the same or are y'all one with the birds this year?

These wallets are just about ready to hatch out of our shop and into your pockets!

We are releasing three Special-Edition Waterfowl Scout wallets this Friday. There will only be one of each available.

Each color combo was inspired by a different duck breed. The green/brown/tan wallet represents the green-winged teal, the gray/tan/green stands for the pintail, and the grey/green/blue/brown was dedicated to the mallard.

Our favorite part about these wallets is the ingenuity that Andrew added with the leather-stamped pattern on the inside pocket. He hand-stamped the texture replicating the breast feathers of a duck. He definitely placed the cherry right on top of these incredible pieces.

Keep an eye out for their release this Friday. We'd hate to see one of these wallets fly out of your sight.

Which Scout color combo is your favorite of these two??

Also, the novel The Overstory by Richard Powers has accidentally become a popular one for us as Doug just finished it up and Andrew received it as a gift from his mother-in-law around the same time.

It's a pretty wild coincidence as the book details a beautiful depiction of how we are all connected through the guidance of trees.

If there's anything that brings our brotherhood together, it's the blessings that trees have gifted us. Whether it's exploring their woods, camouflaging with them, or dreaming up new handcrafts; it's always trees that create those opportunities.
