Since I made these planters to live on my front porch, I opted to experiment a little with surface design, this is a little slip inlay, also known as Mishima. I rushed the timing on this one a little, so its a bit “rustic” looking. But I’ve got another one on deck that should come out with some cleaner marks. This was very fun to do! I can’t wait to fill it with dirt use it!

This mug is fresh out of the kiln, so in a day or two the crackly part will have more depth, but I couldn’t wait to post this. My friend likened it to a blueberry bursting into a muffin. And now that’s all I can see. This may become the first of a line of blueberry muffin crackle mugs! And if you’re interested, glazes are Velaris inside and on the rim, and Penguin Pottery’s Summit Freeze from the Frost line on the outside.
