——So, how can I combine my two favorite things? I’ve asked myself this many, many times. I’m talking about thrifting and design. I do it in my own house almost exclusively, so why not help others do the same? That’s why I am here and I feel so blessed to pass these inspirations and tips

to you!

From a very young age I was that little girl who rearranged her room every other day. Naturally, I got bored quickly with my room and moved on to the rest of the house. Thankfully I had a family who let me move things around the house and not only embraced, but encouraged my passion. I remember when I would step into different homes or places for the first time, rather than thinking about what I was there for, I would immediately start analyzing the design and decor. Not much has changed since then! During my school age years, there was never a question as to what I would go to school for. In 2006, I graduated from Indiana State with my Bachelors Degree. Although I held a few jobs that were not design related, because let's be real, a very small town in Indiana is not the design capital of the world, I have always managed to have some sort of design job going on the side. Thankfully, over the last 10 years, I have established roots in this area, met some amazing people , been given incredible opportunities and all of these I feel have given me the chance to make this work in an area that most wouldn't think is possible..

🌊🏠 Exciting news! It’s time to reveal the next phase of this Florida home! The living room and guest bathroom are ready to be showcased!🌟💙

We’ve infused the space with serene shades of blue and natural colors reminiscent of the beach. As well as light pinks and golden yellow! This scheme follows throughout the entire space. The use of shiplap on the walls and ceilings was done to create a beach cottage feel.

✨ Check out the stunning before and after pictures below to witness the magical transformation! 📸

Get ready to be transported to the sun-drenched paradise of Florida! ☀️🌴 I've had the incredible opportunity to work on a home design project that perfectly captures the essence of coastal living. 🏖️🏠

We have been working on this home since last summer, but due to the hurricane, we had to understandably deal with completion and material issues that were out of our control. But we are nearing the end, never the less! 🙌🏻

The client's vision for a clean, crisp, and simple design served as the foundation for this stunning abode. We've incorporated the impact of cool tones in unexpected areas, adding a touch of refreshing allure to every corner. 💙✨

And let's talk about the wallpapers—each piece tailored to fit the space flawlessly, creating an ambiance that's as unique as the client themselves.

Here are some before and afters! Stay tuned over the next few months as I unveil the harmonious blend of simplicity, cool tones, and bespoke wallpaper in this Florida dream home!

Another arrangement to brighten our living room!

It’s made from a thrifted glass bowl/vase and various floral stems that have came from arrangements from second hand stores or yard sales that I’ve taken apart.

There are even some Christmas clearance berries in this piece. ( Yellow & Red)

✅ Never assume that after holiday clearance sale items can only be used for that particular season! It’s all in what you pair things with!

The decoupage Easter egg was something I did with old labels and vintage tags that I keep on hand!

Enjoy!💕

Hi friends! 💕

I know....It’s been awhile since I’ve posted something design related. Grief is a strange thing.

I’ve been a busy bee working on clients homes, but to be completely transparent, I found that doing my job was the most I could do. Keeping up with posting my projects and updates was just an extra step I didn’t have the energy to take for awhile.

With that being said, with great loss, comes great realizations. For me, one of those was the desire to work my on my OWN home as well. Life is short and my family and I deserve to be creative and curate a home that we love too. There is an unlimited flow of creative energy in my head to give to myself as well as others! ♥️

I’ve started small and made a few spring floral arrangements from Thrifted pieces. Yes, you CAN put faux flowers in water if you use hot glue at the bottom of the stems to keep the metal wire from being exposed. 😉 You can also create a permanent fake water look by using clear Elmers glue!

So, my plan for 2023 is to slowly transform our home little by little as well as continue to work with my amazing clients.

Right now, I am obsessed with deeper rich colors, but adding in splashes of unexpected cooler tones such as pink, chartreuse and powder blue.

I’m really drawn to Baroque style right now with added natural elements such as marble and terra cotta. The tid bits of bright, cool colors keep the look updated, fresh and unexpected.

I also have some strange fascination with faux fruit and anything velvet as well!

The last picture is my own unique version of a mood board that I created with a few of these little elements! The grapes are velvet and I’ve chosen to communicate that look by showing the colors I’ll be using.

More updated pics coming soon! ♥️

I have had this color scheme and tree decor idea swirling around in my mind for a month.

This has been a hard week and seeing this come to life brought me so much peace and joy. ❤️

BUT here is something so fun I need to share....

This Fraser fir tree is naturally gorgeous by itself, but in order to achieve the overall look I wanted, I needed the branches/greenery to be more like that of a cedar pine, which is long and more soft.

If you find yourself in this position or just want a new look to your tree that is not permanent , there is an easy fix!

Purchase cedar garland or springs and add them into the tree before adding lights!

You can also get very creative like I did and add ferns, trailing lotus, and any sort of greenery that you love.

If you use garland, you can literally lay it on top of a row of branches and dangle the greenery over the existing limbs. It adds so much depth and class to a tree if you layer the greens! 😍

I used to say that I wasn’t a fan of strictly using silver on a Christmas tree. I usually add gold and silver together, but I am officially eating my words!🤭

By far and away, my favorite thing on this tree are the beautiful hand picked antique crystals that were loaned to us by a dear friend. ❤️

Side note:
I am also now a huge fan of using metal ribbon on a tree!

Last week I decorated the main tree at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.

I can’t express how important the thought/creative process behind how to decorate a Christmas tree in someone’s home or a business is.

Working in grief care for a few years showed me how significant nature is to our soul when we have experienced a loss or grieving.

With this tree, I wanted to do all things nature. We already had a lot of gold, creams and typical green ornaments to use but added moss, snow glazed sticks, greenery, pine ones and natural animal ornaments.

My hope is that this tree brings comfort and peace to those who find themselves in a funeral home during this holiday season. 💚

🎄It’s my favorite time of the year!🎄

The Welch & Cornett Funeral Home location in Linton is officially ready for the Holiday Season!

Having clients that allow me to be creative and add in some unexpected color schemes/design elements is such a blessing!

Last year for the arrangement room we went with yellows, creams and bronze/gold that were brought in from the area rug in front of the fireplace.

🤎This year, I went with warm neutrals, bronze, gold, whites, creams and grey. The key to mixing neutrals( when one is cool and one is warm) is to have a good combination of shiny vs. natural elements. 🤎

For the large tree, instead of strictly sticking with the colors of the funeral home, I added in green and light pink. I thrifted some beautiful vintage image ornaments and I wanted to base the tree on those. Todd and Cindy didn’t bat and eye when I told them I wanted to add in “pink” of all colors! 💕

This might sound like a sad excuse for a designer, but I’ve been so busy actually working ON my job sites that I haven’t had much time to sit down and post about them.🥴

It’s definitely a good problem to have that I am certainly not complaining about. ❤️

This couple is SO fun! They moved from out of state and their style is French Provincial, mixed with a tad bit of Farmhouse.

They love history, antiques, grays, cool toned woods, creams/whites, blues and ornate architecture of any kind!

The mood boards for the first two rooms gives you a good idea as to what is happening in their home now. These are just a few samples of areas throughout their home.

BUT...that third picture. 🤤👟

This guy loves his shoes and we just had to create a custom space to display them! Each pair of shoes is actually enclosed in a clear box of its own.

More to come on the updates as this home starts to come to life with their vision!

So many good things happening in this little pile of samples. Florida has THE best places to sift through design selections! ❤️

This client was very specific in that she feels most at peace when her surroundings are light and airy. She loves white, cool cream, monochromatic shades of blue (especially powder blue) as well as natural wood. We plan to bring in a touch of warmth with gold fixtures and hardware.

While she is excited to incorporate small areas of hand selected wallpaper throughout the home, she also loves the straight lines of white coastal cottage shiplap walls AND ceilings together. 🤤

The unfolding of this Florida home is going to be truly amazing! We are going to use this powder blue in a BIG and unexpected way, so stay tuned.

Much more to come!

I rarely ever have time to do much interior work on my own house. It’s the nature of the beast! However, I did finally make small changes for the summer!
