Style isn’t always about what’s trending.
Sometimes it’s simply about what feels right to you.
You’ll hear that certain things are “out” … farmhouse, horse images, this material or that texture. But the truth is, a space should first feel like a place you want to be.
This little corner is layered with pieces that make me smile.
An old egg swing that I took apart and rebuilt into something new.
Tree trunks brought in from outside, sanded, cleaned, and stained to bring a little bit of the outdoors in.
Clay pottery, baskets, greenery, and layers of texture …fur, canvas, wool.
Even the hanging light was made from a broken piece of pottery. I sanded it, painted the inside, and turned it into a light so the plant below can live happily.
Nothing here was designed around what’s currently “in.”
It was built around comfort, creativity, and pieces that tell a story.
Because good design isn’t just about style.
It’s about creating a space that feels like home.
And sometimes the best pieces in a room are the ones you make yourself.
