Tile and stone are critical building blocks for every hospitality space - and they’re making a bolder statement than ever. At Coverings, our own Adam Ford got a firsthand look at the trends and innovations that will shimmer, sparkle and shape interior design for upcoming projects.⁠

Is bigger better? Exhibitors said a resounding “yes” with stunning XL-format tile. For designers looking for subtler impact, textural neutrals and natural stone look products have leveled up and are brilliantly convincing. “Lit” porcelain slabs mimic precious stone without requiring lighting for visual dazzle. Micro-mosaics and haptic glazes speak to the desire for multisensory intrigue. Surface finishes take graphic rendering to the next level. ⁠

This Earth Month, it's a material world: For the transformation of farm-to-table Where the Wild Greens AR, the story is in the surfacing and the eponymous organic tones. A walnut-clad ceiling over the service line and millwork banquettes reflect a biophilia-inspired approach that incorporates gradients of green through the counter front, paint and signage. A mural adds a vibrancy that reflects bright tones without the natural world.⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠
