Frazadas

For the past 6 years, I have worked directly with a community of women in the South-Eastern Andes of Peru. These women are master weavers who have learned the trade of weaving since they were young girls. The ancient tradition customarily being passed down through generations dating back to the times of the Incas. They weave incredible works of art for purposes of utility, ceremony, creation and to share with tourists and travelers passing through their land.

I travel back and forth between Los Angeles and Peru several times a year to bring this work to the United States. I am proud to be a representative of this art-form and provide a consistent income to the group of women I work with.

As we continue to further advance into a global community, artistry and treasures from cultures throughout the world make themselves more readily available to the marketplace. I consider it a gift and an honor to have fostered a relationship with these artists and work within this medium. One that is wholly reciprocal and never ceases to further enrich and deepen my perspective.

Please feel free to contact me with questions, inquiries, or any insight you might have.
