If I had to start my business from scratch again, here’s exactly what I’d do first ⬇️
🔥 Step 1: Pick a niche that buyers are already spending money in
I’d skip the “find your passion” fluff and forget about “choosing a niche” and stalk digital marketplaces instead:
🕵🏼♀️ Etsy, Gumroad, Flippa, Amazon Bestsellers
→ What digital products are trending? Who’s buying them?
Once I spot a hungry niche (like creators who need Notion templates or newsletter writers who hate SEO), that’s my lane. I won’t choose something I wish I was great at — I’d choose what I’m already great with.
🔥 Step 2: Claim my corner on Pinterest and Youtube
Pinterest brings warm leads, and YT blows up content with the right SEO.
→ I’d post tutorials, 3-part educational series, and storytimes with subtle CTAs.
→ Use keywords inside my pins and captions like they owe me rent.
🔥 Step 3: Build ONE good digital product — fast.
Not a big course. Not a bloated membership. I’d launch a $17–$27 “instant fix” ebook that solves a specific pain point.
🔥 Step 4: Set up a checkout page that’s so simple.
No walls of text. No copy that confuses.
Just:
✔️ What they get
✔️ Who it’s for
✔️ Why it’s urgent
…and an upsell that makes buyers go “ugh FINE, take my money.”
🎯 I’d use Thrivecart (for fast checkouts + affiliates)
🔥 Step 5: Start growing a newsletter that sells
→ I’d give away the first step of my paid product as a freebie
→ Plug it on my pin descriptions + TikTok bio + inside every checkout
→ Enlist a few people from my list to beta test the paid version in exchange for testimonials I can use on the sales page
Then I’d focus on my newsletter and write emails like I’m texting my smartest friend. That’s how trust builds. That’s how people buy again.
📌 TL;DR: If I started from scratch…
- I’d niche into a spend-ready audience
- build one juicy digital product
- drive traffic with Pinterest & YT
- write emails
