Since so many have asked about pollen, I’m going to be able to start collecting some new with this fancy new piece of hive equipment. I won’t be gathering a lot since pollen is still essential to baby bees, they don’t tend to hoard it like they do with honey. So it will be a limited seasonal item.

Saw three of my queens today, so time for the game of queen spotting! Set on super easy mode, easy mode and medium challenge mode. 😆🐝🐝🐝

Got these girls moved out of a cherry blossom field. I haven’t been able to see them since I put in two queens in two of them after a couple of splits from other hives. I really hope they’re alright.
If you ever wish to host bees somethings to keep in mind: The beekeeper will need access to the bees at all times for inspections and or moving the hives in and out of the property. Bees need access to water with sufficient places for them to land on to drink said water. It’s preferred you avoid all pesticides, but if you must please communicate this with the beekeeper and try to do it at night when the bees are inside for the evening.

Over here at the California City elementary school early development head start program telling the kids about bees! They loved touching the wax frames, smelling everything, and hopefully learning about bees! 🐝

You guys! One year ago this little sweet potato of a dog came up to me while I was selling honey and said take me home and love me. While he didn’t understand honey that first day, he’s now so obsessed with it. My biggest fan. Happy Gotcha day Truffles! ❤️

Placed a couple of empty boxes for bees to move in. If they don’t I’ll just split one of my other hives once I know I can obtain a new queen for the hive.
