Parmesan cheese 🧀 – 1/2 cup
Pepperoni slices 🍕 – As many as you like! (1-2 cups recommended)
Olive oil 🫒 – 1 tbsp (for brushing the crust)
Instructions
Prepare the Dough:
In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
Add olive oil, salt, and 2 cups of flour. Stir until smooth. Gradually add the remaining flour, mixing until the dough comes together.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
Make the Sauce:
In a small saucepan, combine tomato sauce, garlic powder, oregano, basil, and salt. Simmer over low heat for 10 minutes. Set aside to cool.
Assemble the Pizza:
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Place a large pizza stone or baking sheet in the oven to heat.
Punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface into an extra-large circle (about 16-18 inches).
Carefully transfer the dough to a piece of parchment paper for easy handling.
Spread the sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border for the crust. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses over the sauce. Arrange pepperoni slices on top.
Bake the Pizza:
Slide the parchment paper with the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
Brush the crust with olive oil immediately after removing from the oven for added flavor.
Serve and Enjoy:
Slice into generous pieces and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces or sides.
