Color Me Happy🪻🩷🐒💙🌷With a Modern Mix

Our happy & colorful home is on the market. For more than 24 years this has been our home full of love, fun, lots of memories, silly moments & sad, but most of all a wonderful place to call home. It's been in my husband's family since 1932 & we hope that a new family will make this their happy home soon for many, many years.

Here are a few peeks at one of my favorite (colorful & artful) rooms, our living room. Currently working on finding special spots in our new home for all our art, books, antiques, chandeliers & all the other good stuff we have collected over a lifetime!

After over 100 years in my husband's family, we have had to say goodbye to his & our son's beloved private lake place & tree farm in Thomaston, GA🚣🏼‍♂️🎣🐟🥹

The stunning hand wrought iron chandelier hanging in the great room is from Portugal (original to the cottage) is a focal point in this Mid-Century Modern country lake cottage I renovated about 20 years ago. The pale blue ceiling & geometric angles of the white trusses, compliment the graceful curves of the bold black iron chandelier. I've always loved that contrast & juxtaposition.

Other details that were important to keep during the renovation were the vintage wicker pendants in the kitchen, along with some other quirky furnishings. The tile floors in the bathrooms were budget friendly, but laid out in a fun diagonal checkerboard pattern of light blue & creamy white tiles. The dining area features a custom made glass top picnic table & chairs which were updated with woven seat belt straps. Comfy furniture, a kitchen with open shelves for easy access to dinnerware & views all around were priority.

Whether for your home or workplace, it is the first thing people notice & will remember. This brilliant monochromatic blue exterior of a restaurant in St. Andrews, Scotland, captured our curiosity so much, that we stopped in for a drink & snack to rest our feet for a few moments during our summer 2025 visit.

I've been doing a lot of Spring cleaning these days & going through my portfolios I came across these hand drawn blueprints of a project I worked on at my first job In San Francisco after graduating with my degree in architecture at Cal. This was before everything was done on computers & several of us interns in the office had specific designs to work on. Each page was initialed in the box where it says "drawn by." These are a few that I drew.

This classical house circa 1918 is located in the beautiful Presidio Heights in the City by the Bay. Bay Architects are still an award winning architectural firm. The homeowner who we did the work for is still living in his home & is 92 years old. I still illustrate & paint all my art by hand!

White rooftop profiles in snowy white stucco are striking against the brilliant blue sky. I made this collection, “White Rooftops” a few of years ago when staying along the Gulf Coast embracing the beauty & architecture of Alys Beach.
