July & August in a hazy dry sleepy nutshell 💥

Sold a ton of tomaters, killed a bunch of porcupine, harvested some gorgeously parasite free lettuce, many drippy ice cream cones, chips on the beach, birthdays with pals and so much heartwarming validation via farmstand Saturdays. It all happens at once in these summer months and somehow we made it out, still standing, slightly aged and measuring successes in nap/bedtimes. Centering ourselves daily on what actually matters and trying to turn down the stuff that doesn’t, that’s the work right?

Endless possibilities out here thanks to all of your support encouragement unconditional love and a huge dose of our own Friekin work ethic. We luv ya!

Last farmstand is Saturday the 19th! Come see us on the farm this month and then get pumped for fall and winter stuff! We’re going big and you’re coming with us yeeeehawww 🤠

Yesterday was a prime example of the wild rollercoaster that is farming; started off deeply low as we assessed damage to all, ALL of our field crops from a freak lightning and hail storm on Sunday night. Hail ripped through every single tender leaf of lettuce we have in the field, and we’re growing a lot of lettuce this year, it knocked over nearly blooming summer annual flower crops and fully broke a large portion of the potato patch, just ravaging months and months of hard work. It is what it is and everything will be fine, eventually, but it was just brutal and a solid reminder of who’s in charge here, it’s not us.

Ended the day absolutely elated after the sweetest night market Roaring Lion Farm & Market. Saw some other farmer pals, brought a build your own bouquet bar which was a smashing success, Juney girl stopped by after daycare for some snuggles and tacos and a great time was had.
As July hits this rollercoaster is really just getting started, so go hug your farmer friends, shop locally and throw some rocks into the ocean to pay homage to Mother Nature.

Toot toot 👏 to the tulips who showed up juuuust in time, mixed with a few bits and bobs we will be wrapping mixed bouquets for ya as well as offering a handful of these gorgeous vases stuffed with blooms. This is what early spring dreams are made of!

I am ~mother~ but I am NOT ~Mother Nature~

This cold slow af spring has kept our flowers happy and healthy but not blooming *just* yet. I was really hoping to have heaps and heaps of diverse, jaw dropping floral goodness to send into the world for the big ol flower holiday that is Mother’s Day, but my boss (Mother Nature) has other plans for us and so we relinquish control, take a breath and pivot.

My ‘watched pot never boils’ daily farm (stress) walks had me thinking; what do mom-type people really want, what do I really want; duh! TIME! I want more time with my kid, I want to share experiences and joy and togetherness with her. And so how can I facilitate that for you and your mom?! WORKSHOPS ON THE FARM heyooo

Just created two workshops for later in the month of May when our spring flowers will be absolutely popping off. Treat yourself, your mom, your besties or come solo and enjoy some timeeee. Let me mother you with a big ol dose of floral joy on the farm 🫶

Who wore if better: wintersweet kale raab edition 👀

Been a big week in our largest and only heated production greenhouse. Big flip of earliest spring greens for the first succession of tomatoes and cukes! Now we heat that sucker to like 70F which is wiiild and I just keep thinking “is the juice worth the squeeze” we will have to compare total sales on these crops later this season to our propane billz and I’ll keep ya posted 🤑

We’ve got the very last of the winter spinach, these gorgeous flowering kale stems (eat em like a broccolini and thank me later) of course our butter lettuce mix & some sexy spring dug leeks to offer this week.
