With tired hands and questionable levels of confidence, I present my first two gnome ornaments. Are they perfect? Absolutely not. Are they a little wonky? Yes. Do they still insist on being adorable anyway? Unfortunately, also yes.

I’m still tweaking the keychain pattern, so these are very much ‘draft 1, please be gentle’ versions. But they’re getting there… slowly… stubbornly… like me.

For now, these little misfits are heading into the Misfit Album—because not everything has to be perfect to deserve a little love, a little attention, and a slightly dramatic photo shoot.

With a pinch of Kippy’s whimsical charm and a dash of cheeky sarcasm, we celebrate the perfectly imperfect… because even the wonky ones deserve their moment. 💜

Breaking News from Kippy’s Kreations…

After two weeks of surgery, recovery, naps, more naps, and questioning whether my crochet hooks had forgotten me, I finally picked one up today. 🧶

The winning project? A gnome ornament, of course.

What nobody warned me about was that apparently my hands filed for early retirement while I was recovering.

I picked up my hook expecting, “Welcome back, crochet queen!”

Instead, my hands said, “Who are you, and what exactly are we supposed to do with this tiny stick and string?”

I’ve gone years without crocheting before and jumped right back in. This time? Every stitch feels like I’m negotiating a peace treaty between my brain, my hands, and the yarn.

The gnome is being very patient with me, though. He’s watching this whole situation unfold and judging me silently from the yarn basket. 😂

Recovery is a funny thing. One day you’re sleeping through half the day, and the next you’re celebrating a slightly lopsided stitch like you’ve conquered a mountain.

So if my first few creations back look a little extra “handcrafted,” just know they’re made with determination, stubbornness, and a generous sprinkle of post-surgery chaos. 💜

After being out of commission for a bit following surgery and a surprise emergency appointment, I finally woke up today feeling more like me again. 💜

The crafty ideas that have been bouncing around in my head during recovery are ready to escape… but now I can’t decide where to start! 😂
