Happy Lunar New Year! The Year of the Snake is coming up and I'm getting out the spare snacks turntable my mom sent me to New York with. She (rightfully) wouldn't relinquish the treasured wind-up turntable of my childhood that plays the CNY song. I'll be filling it with my favorite LNY snacks pictured here! Sesame smile cookies, dried coconut with powdered sugar, green tea pumpkin seeds, roasted sunflower seeds, and Chinese roasted peanuts! Red envelopes topped with Lucky candy for the middle dish.

Do you buy cute red envelopes or get the $free.99 ones from the bank??

Lao Gan Ma: the gold standard of chili crisp. Talk about a household name! With the rapidly expanding world of new chili crisp competitors, I've tried SO many--Fly by Jing, Zindrew, and a whole array of various new flavors and brands that my best friend gifted me one glorious birthday. I'm gutted that my favorite chili crisp was made in-house at an NYC Chinatown dumpling spot that didn't make it through COVID, and I'm currently drowning those sorrows in the grocery-available S&B Crunchy Garlic chili oil.
