What a wonderful opening of the Mom + Pop Shop at Cargo yesterday! It was such a joy to see this thoughtful installation come to life and to celebrate alongside so many incredibly talented Portland artists.

A huge thank you to Bridgid and the entire Cargo team for creating an exhibition that celebrates creativity, community, and the everyday objects that connect us.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the opening and reminder that the installation is on view throughout the month of August. Stop in, explore the incredible work, and take home a little piece of the Mom + Pop Shop! ❤️

📷 Thank you heather.v.keeling | three gems creative for capturing the energy of the Mom + Pop Shop through your lens!

From the garden to the backyard table, summer is an invitation to slow down, share a meal, and savor the season.

My ceramic Paper Plate series celebrates those simple gatherings—picnics, backyard dinners, and weeknight meals - where the most ordinary objects become part of something meaningful. Inspired by the humble paper plate, each piece transforms something disposable into an object made to be used, shared, and cherished.

Join me this Saturday at Mom + Pop Shop at Cargo to see these pieces alongside the work of other incredible local artists and their interpretations of “essentials” you might find at the local corner store.

I’m excited to share that Puji Studio will be a part of Mom + Pop Shop, a group exhibition at Cargo - Portland’s vibrant marketplace celebrating local artists, makers, and independent businesses.

On display throughout the month of August, Mom + Pop Shop examines the role of the neighborhood brick-and-mortar shop as both a practical resource and a cultural touchstone. Inspired by Mom + Pop corner shops—part convenience, part gathering place—the exhibition explores what we consider “essential,” and how those essentials are shaped as much by emotion and memory as by necessity.

For this exhibition, I created a series of four hand-built ceramic plates inspired by one of the most ordinary objects we rarely stop to appreciate—the paper plate. Designed to be used once and discarded, it became the starting point for exploring what an “essential” object can become when crafted by hand and made to last.

For those in Portland, I’d love to see you at the opening this Saturday and invite you to experience this thoughtful exhibition featuring the work of local artists throughout the month of August.

The Lisboa Collection celebrates the layers of pattern across buildings and sidewalks that bring beauty and artistry to Lisbon’s sunlit streets. Referencing hand-painted tiles arranged in repeating grids, the designs in this collection balance structure with softness.

Introducing the Lisboa Collection.

Inspired by the tiled facades of Lisbon, Portugal, this handmade ceramic collection reflects the colors and patterns of a hillside city shaped by history and its connection to the sea. The hues in this collection provide a sense of place - dusty terracottas, weathered yellows, ocean blues, and olive greens create a palette shaped by light, time, and coastal air. A natural addition to the spring table, the Lisboa Collection reflects the energy of the season—fresh, joyful, and centered around sharing.
