Hi friends & welcome to the homestead 🌿

We’ve had so many new followers lately, so I thought it would be a good time to re-introduce ourselves and share a little bit about the heart behind Gaffney Homestead.

A couple years ago, we fostered and adopted our three boys, and this homestead has become such a special part of our family’s healing, learning, and growing together. Our greatest desire is to raise them to love Jesus, care for others, appreciate God’s creation, and learn meaningful life skills along the way.

We homeschool and spend a lot of our days outdoors — gardening, nature learning, caring for animals, hatching butterflies, making art, baking from scratch, and finding joy in the simple things. The boys love helping around the homestead and being part of everything we create here.

Right now we keep bees, raise chickens for eggs and meat, grow gardens in raised beds and tower gardens, and make homemade goods like teas, spice blends, pickles, jams, sourdough goodies, and more.

Around here, it’s not about perfection. It’s about building a slower, more sustainable, faith-filled life rooted in family, creativity, learning, and gratitude for the little blessings God gives us every day.

We’re so thankful you’re here and excited to share this journey with you 🌻

Lots more to come 🤍

Blessings,
~ Gaffney Homestead

If you’re not checking and spraying (organic) your garden at night you’re probably going to wake up to a garden invasion! 🔦🐛🕵️‍♀️

Went out tonight to find a variety of pests!! Stinkbugs of all kids went into soapy water. The hornworms went into a jar for chickens tomorrow… The wooly caterpillar went into a butterfly tent to humanely live out its life (away from my garden), and the grasshopper got flung waaay out of my garden.. If I find him again he’s going in the butterfly tent too!

This summer let your kiddos be pest detectives with you and do night garden strolls 🙂 so much fun & theyll remember it forever :)
