What an amazing benefit for Chico! 👏🏻 The Mobile community showed up in a big way, with musicians, businesses, Mardi Gras lovers, and Chico fans all coming together for one of Mobile's favorites.

Huge thanks to Lisa Fisher Blackmon, Keith Burns, and everyone who worked behind the scenes and at the event to make it happen.

When we shared our idea with Chico and reached out to Lisa, we never imagined the response we'd receive. We created the ChicoFest commemorative bead and drumstick as a way to use our creativity to help our friend, and y'all absolutely blew us away. Thank you to everyone who purchased one (or ten!) and helped raise additional funds for Chico during his health journey.

We completely sold out, but many of you asked for more, so we're making more as we speak! Thank you for helping turn a simple idea into something that continues to give back to Chico and his family. Stay tuned to see the total amount y'all helped raise for Chico and his family through your bead and drumstick purchases! ❤️

We heard Chico say yesterday that he'd love for this to become an annual event to help someone else in need. That tells you everything you need to know about him. Even during his own health journey, Chico is thinking about others.

Anyone who's ever watched Chico on a parade route knows his signature move: pointing that drumstick into the crowd and making people feel seen. It seems fitting that even now, he's still pointing toward others and lifting people up. That's the kind of heart that makes Chico more than a Mobile legend. ✌🏻❤️🥁

🟢 YES, we are still taking pre-orders for ChicoFest Drum Beads! Order by 11 a.m. tomorrow, Saturday 5/30, to guarantee a bead for pickup at ChicoFest.

🔵 YES, we will have a limited number of ChicoFest Drum Beads available at ChicoFest on Sunday, 5/31… while supplies last!

💳 On Sunday, we’ll accept cash, debit/credit cards, Venmo, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

🟢 NO, the collectible ChicoFest drumstick cannot be pre-ordered. It is a limited edition item, with only 100 available at ChicoFest on Sunday.

🔵 NO, we are not involved in planning ChicoFest. Mrs. NickNacks has called Nick the “unofficial President of the Chico Fan Club” for years, and we’re lucky to know Chico and call him a friend. He’s our favorite to spot during parades or gigs around town, helped us celebrate Mardi Gras during quarantine with an epic Yardi Gras celebration, performed at our wedding, and is just a great dude, on and off the drum set. We make custom Mardi Gras beads and medallions and with Chico’s recent health journey thought- why not make one to celebrate ChicoFest and give back proceeds to Chico himself?

👏 Lisa Fisher Blackmon, Keith Burns, Angie Hall, Vickie Bailey, and Ella Bama Salter are the folks who deserve all the credit for coordinating ChicoFest with such heart and community!
