One of the things I love most about carving is that every piece starts with possibility.

At the beginning, it's just a rough slab of wood and all I have to do is remove the pieces that don’t belong until all that remains is what I saw. (Pun intended 😂)

And after all these years it still feels like a magic trick.

Today’s Sunset Carve.

By the time I was finishing up, the sun had dropped behind the trees and I had to turn on the lights to keep going. I’ll share more photos tomorrow and this one is available.

There’s something satisfying about being so wrapped up in what you’re creating that you don’t notice how long you’ve been at it. The days can be long, but when you genuinely love what you do, they rarely feel that way.
