Some practice work from my students in my Tattoo Fundamentals course!

We’ve been focusing on clean, steady lines, fine details, different line weights, and soft to bold shading using stipple shading techniques.

Really proud of their progress so far! More to come I’ll also be sharing what we’ve been learning beyond hands-on practice. 🔥

Recently, I had the honor of completing a tattoo that had remained unfinished for years, originally started by local tattoo artist Derek Jackson, who sadly passed away. Taking on this piece came with mixed emotions and a deep sense of responsibility. There was no original reference, as Derek had been creating the design through his own artistic vision. I did my best to honor what he may have envisioned while respecting the client’s wishes and the work he left behind. It was never about making this piece my own, but about giving it the ending it deserved. Much respect to Derek, his artistry, and the legacy he left behind. 🕊️
