Photography To Painting, what is that about?

Photography was my passion for over twenty years but, painting captures something very personal to the artist. Photography captures something from the subject and the artist. Perhaps I am selfish and as I age I just want to share myself. ;)

As an art teacher I am very passionate about colors, but I am also passionate about animals. I started painting animals using bright colors and fell in love, but I was just eh about it. What really changed things was when I became the art teacher for Fleming County High School. I could see that the previous art teacher was an excellent painter and those kiddos were pretty good too! I knew that I needed to put down the camera and pull out the brushes for my students, and when I did I loved it!

As long as people find a joyful connection to my paintings I will continue to make them!
