More Pipes on the Way + Giant Black Locust Burl! 🪵🔥
The wood pile is stocked, and the shop is gearing up for a massive round of new hand-carved pipes. There is nothing quite like sorting through raw timber, reading the grain, and seeing what each piece wants to become.
To top it all off, we just got our hands on a giant black locust burl, and the possibilities for it are completely wild. Black locust is some of the toughest, most character-rich wood out there—this thing is going to yield some absolute statement pieces once we get it on the bench.

Fresh Off the Laser: Custom Pine Portraits 🖼️🪵
Had a new batch of portraits come off the laser and they turned out absolute gold. There’s something special about taking a favorite family photo, pet picture, or core memory and burning it straight into solid pine grain—capturing all those little details that standard prints just can't touch.
These make incredible personalized keepsakes for gifts, home decor, or celebrating the people (and pets!) you love most.

Well... That Was Short Lived 😅💥

The Shopsmith motor blew out on us. Definitely unfortunate, but that’s just how shop life goes sometimes—you hit a snag, rebuild, and keep moving.

The good news? We’ve got a dedicated lathe coming in real soon to keep the wood spinning and production rolling without missing a beat!

That said, we’re still looking to get the Shopsmith back to 100%. If anyone’s got a working motor that fits a Shopsmith sitting in their barn or garage—or knows someone looking to trade or rehome one—shoot us a DM!

Time to adapt, keep carving, and get this shop fully powered back up. 🪵🔨

Leveling Up the Craft 🪵⚡

​When we brought the laser into the shop, it completely transformed our pipe game—allowing us to add intricate detail and custom branding to every hand-carved piece.

​Now, with this Shopsmith in the setup, we're ready to take things to a whole new level! Between the lathe, boring capabilities, and shaping power, the possibilities for new pipe designs and custom woodwork just blew wide open.

Major Shop Upgrade Alert! 🛠️💥
We just scored a Shopsmith on a trade, and man, the shop just got one hell of an upgrade!
Having this kind of multi-tool capability under one roof is a game-changer for what we can build, shape, and turn out of the shop. Huge shoutout to the local community for working with us on trades—proof that solid craft and fair barter still go a long, long way.
Time to get this beast integrated into the setup and put it straight to work on the bench.

Fresh Batch Off the Bench! 💳✨

Had to throw together some new business cards for the shop, and of course, standard paper just wasn't going to cut it. Built these out on laser-engraved metal to make sure they actually stick around instead of getting tossed in a junk drawer.
When you hand someone a card, it ought to feel like the quality of work you actually do.

Restoring Old Iron 🛠️

Nothing beats taking something beaten up, covered in rust, and written off as garbage, and bringing it back to life. I had a blast restoring this old trash hammer and getting it back into working order—there’s just something unmatched about cleaning up forgotten steel and fitting it with fresh wood.

I’d love to take on a few more restoration projects like this!

Behind the Bench: 2026 Pipe Lineup 🪵💨
Just a quick look at some of the hand-carved pipes that have come off the bench this year.
Every single piece starts as raw Michigan hardwood—taking natural branch curves, unique grain patterns, and raw wood character and shaping them into functional art. Add in custom laser-engraved details, and each one ends up completely one-of-a-kind.
