This was a long, hard winter for me and my family. We lost my dad unexpectedly at the beginning of January, and I’m still not sure I’ve fully processed that he’s really gone.

Lately, as I go back through wedding galleries, I’m reminded just how meaningful this work truly is. What we do isn’t just about adding beauty to a day — it’s about preserving something much deeper. It’s a reminder to celebrate the big moments, to take the photos, to hold onto the times when everyone you love is all together in one place. For so many families, a wedding is that moment.

Leah’s bouquet was simple, resilient, and timeless — made entirely of lily of the valley, my favorite flower. A flower that holds even more meaning for me now than it ever has before.

Seeing images of Leah with her dad fills me with so much happiness. I thought moments like that might feel difficult to look at, but instead, they bring a sense of peace — a quiet joy knowing they had that day together.

Lily of the valley symbolizes the return of happiness, purity, sweetness, and humility. It’s a flower tied to spring, to renewal, and to hope. Traditionally, it’s given on May 1st as a gesture of good luck and a wish for joy.

So today, on May 1st, I’m sending that wish to all of you — love, joy, and the reminder to hold close the moments that matter most. x
