The peacocks gaze ❤️

This lovely bird is sitting on a tree of recycled chains, welded together for a sturdy perch to a heavy brake rotor base to prevent tipping.

His body is made from hand bent washers, dropped vent slots, an old stainless creamer cup, a collet for his beak, old drill bits for his head floor, and saw blades.

Overall between prep and welding he took about 9 to 10 hours to complete.
Some people expect more, and really for me when I really get into a head space with an idea, my work just flows easily.

A BIG thank you to Givens Farm Estate for hosting such a lovely art market.

The weather was on our side and turned out so perfect for Saturday, as you can see from the wonderful sunshine through the windows. 😁

It was a pleasure getting to vend there and meet so many new faces. There were so many talented artists there, you could just feel the life and love in the space.

I was also very blessed to be asked to have my larger pieces up front welcoming the guests into the event.
I wish I had gotten a photo of the entrance display, but I was a touch busy talking to everyone who came through!

It really was great and I look forward to the future events.

Throw me a bone!

This pup was mistaken for popsicle sticks! He is made from hundreds of hand bent and welded pieces of metal. They are recycled bit that come from vent slots.
I definitely had more than one piece go flipping into the air when hammering them to shape!
He's a welcoming boy, happy to see you and filled with as much happiness as your own dog is when you come home ❤️
He's also heavy so he won't be knocked down by strong winds like a dog made of popsicle sticks might be haha!

"Give a hoot" was one of my more complicated pieces that I've completed. I really loved how it came out, the sawbladed just gave it a level of depth that was perfect.
I actually had begun my owl last year sometime and I got stuck at some point and set it in the shed to come back to. When I pulled it out at the beginning of this year to continue, a bird had built a nest inside the body cavity. It nest material wasn't so flammable I thought about leaving it open to see it.
But I did end up removing it, thankfully it was already abandoned so no one got evicted 🐦

This piece ended up selling and will be going to a new home up north where it belongs in the wilderness!
