He is a self taught Scratchboard Artist and a member of the International Society of Scratchboard Artist. George was first introduced to scratchboard while attending an art class at The University of New Orleans. A

fter working various mediums he soon realized that scratchboard was the medium he wished to pursue, mainly because of the stark contrast between light and dark as well as the 3D component of the medium.

Welcome to Scratchboard Art by George Wogan!

The Scratchboard art shown here are of wildlife and commissioned pet portraits either in 5x7, 9x7 or 8x10 sizes. Special request can be made for larger sizes.

Scratchboard is a 1/8 inch thick clayboard covered in black India ink. The artist uses various sharp instruments to remove the black ink revealing the white underneath and ultimately the image of the subject. Unlike photos, scratchboard when properly sealed with varnish by the artist will last virtually forever. A perfect lasting memento of your pet.

The cost for a 5x7 pet portrait of headshot only is $125; $200 for 9x7 and $225.00 for 8x10. Add $50 for full body portrait. These portraits of your best friend will never fade!
