SOUL plants in NOLA whole neighborhoods at a time to maximize the benefits of a healthy tree canopy. A fully shaded neighborhood can be up to 10 degrees cooler than a neighborhood without trees!
 
SOUL has planted 13,036 trees since 2016
• 5,431 properties reforested
• 37 acres of increased canopy coverage,
• 3.2 million gallons of water captured
 
They only plant native trees suited to the soil, fluctuating temperatures, rainfall and droughts, as well as the flooding that is part of life in New Orleans.
