Perfect for camping or heading up the the cabin…who doesn’t love biscuits and gravy for breakfast on a Saturday morning or peanut butter sandwiches for a picnic lunch on the boat!

A New Product is hitting the Somerset Community Farmstand shelf tomorrow: Buttery Biscuit Mix made with Fresh Milled Flour straight from my pantry to yours! This is a staple in our household, always requested by my 4 year old on Saturday mornings that we make biscuits and gravy! 1 pack will make roughly 6 biscuits and sells for $10. Limited quantity available!

Honey Roasted Peanut Butter is also stocked and ready to go, $8 per jar. Shameless plug, your mason jar rings from the peanut butter make perfect sized biscuit cutters in a pinch! There are also many other wonderful goodies available for purchase from other local vendors.

Tonight’s task: grinding 5 pounds of soft white wheat berries to make 16 cups of fresh milled all purpose flour. The whole process took 30 minutes including mom distractions…roughly 20 minutes grinding the berries and 10 minutes to sift!

Any guesses what what new goodies I will be making with all this fresh milled all purpose flour to bring to the Farmstand this weekend???

The flour in the grocery store was milled months before it reached you and it’s been sifted, bleached, and stripped of almost all nutrients.

Fresh milled flour is different. You are grinding the whole grain, bran, germ, and all. Everything that was designed to be in that seed stays in your food and ends up on your family’s table.

More fiber, more B Vitamins, more Vitamin E, more healthy fats, better digestion, better energy. Real nourishment from something as simple as fresh milled flour.

One of my favorite swaps I’ve made for our family and it’s not hard and doesn’t take much time to mill with the right kitchen tools.
