When I sat down with The Spruce for this interview, we chatted about all things plant care and home styling. I had no idea what angle they’d take, so when I saw the headline, I did a total double-take. “Who, me?!”

But looking around, it’s a fair point. I really have renovated, rearranged, and designed my entire interior decor around my plant collection. It’s their house, we just live here.

Next up: the kitchen renovation. You already know I’m trying to convince my hubs that we ABSOLUTELY need a glass sunroom. Budget-destroyer? Yes. Worth it for the propagation potential? Unquestionably. Whaddya think? Vote in the poll.

Come with me to The Atlanta Botanical Garden.

The has been on my bucket list for AGES! My hope was to get there this year. The universe heard my ask, and answered YES! I was in Hotlanta to watch my brilliant nephew cross the graduation stage with Morehouse’s Class of 2026.

As fate would have it, we were staying just 1.5 miles down the road! The stars aligned and I finally had the chance to stroll the garden. It is STUNNING! So tranquil and lush.

From the festival to the yard!

The hottest garden trend at this year was rock gardens! Just about every show garden featured a rock element. It reminded me how much I love them, and inspired me to bring it on home!

The ugly side of plants.

They aren’t always camera ready. Plants are not perfect in nature. But when we collect them, we have such an unrealistic expectation of perfection.

These plants were on the struggle bus, but now they are starting to make a comeback! They were suffering from my benign neglect in my old plantroom. I definitely have save-a-plant-hoe syndrome. There was still some green, so I’m going to try and get them back to glory!

I’m going to need allll of the plants, for the plant palace remake!

This is 55! I am so grateful for each and every revolution around the sun, that I have been blessed to have! Raise the roof, it’s time to TURN UP! And by turn up I mean hang out with my plants, read a good a book, binge a show, have a little cake. 🤣🤣🤣
