20 years ago.....It was a warm September morning. I'd taken the A train to Chambers St. My normal routine was to sit outside the Towers with a Starbucks coffee & enjoy the view. That morning I was running a little late & headed to the office instead. Just before I got into the building I heard the first plane and turned to see the beginning of the devastation. What I saw that day can never be put into words so I won't even try....just know that those images have never left me. It took 7 hours but I was blessed enough to make it home and to see many more days since. 20 years and I've yet to go back....
The events of that day and this year are constant reminders to NEVER take the gift of life & the people you love for granted as tomorrow is not promised. So many beautiful lives lost, so many beautiful lives left behind to try to make sense of the senseless....Please 💕🦋

I know it’s been quite a while and I apologize. I promise to do much better 🤗.....Tonight we decided to travel afar for dinner. Lamb Tagine with Prunes & Preserved Lemons on a bed of couscous. Slow cooked for 5 hours with Ras El Hanout which only enhanced the sweetness of the prunes & the sharp taste of the preserved lemons. This was the first time using this particular Tagine but it definitely won’t be the last 😋😋😋....Whatever you’re doing, I hope you have a BEAUTIFUL day. Peace, Love, Butterflies and Cupcakes 🕊❤️🦋🧁

Birthdays are a pretty big deal.in our family...even the ones for our 4 legged family members. Today we celebrate our Little Buddy's 3rd birthday and of course that means CAKE!!

We baked a very dog friendly cake for little man...made with all of his favorites - sweet potato, carrots, apples & peanut butter. Topped with doggie frosting, turkey sausage and treats....Judging from the photos I think I can safely say he really enjoyed his cake....Whatever you're doing today I hope you have a BEAUTIFUL day...Peace, Love, Butterflies and Cupcakes 🕊❤🦋🧁 🐶🐾

Because sometimes simplicity is best....Decadent, moist, rich and full of chocolate deliciousness. A hint of espresso to enhance the chocolate flavor in both the cake and the frosting. It feels sooooo good to be able to create in the kitchen again. Due to some health issues which impaired my sight I haven't been unable to to do a lot of things for the past couple of months and that included baking. Of all the restrictions not baking was the hardest. Baking not only brings me joy, it's also my time to think and/or relieve stress. However, the past couple of months have given me time to appreciate all that I have...my health,my family, my friends and life.

So for my first bake I decided to go with something with a kick....Jalapeño & Cheddar bread!! The peppers were chopped incredibly small so that there is a bit of spice in EVERY bite!! This will go great with the chilli that I'm making for dinner tonight 🌶🍽.....Whatever you're doing I hope you have a BEAUTIFUL day. Always exiting to receive goodies 8n the mail!! Today it was a surprise from .
