The Beginning

Douglas Carter III, Born February 10, 1991 in Baltimore, Maryland to his mother who loved her children dearly. She always kept them in extra curricular activities, in Douglas case dance was one. Starting at the age of 8, Douglas attended DeVe's Christian Summer Dance Camp where he began to explore his passion for dance. Later in 2001, Douglas' mother along with his brother and sister later moved to New York. Douglas always was accepted to be on school dance teams. His first job provided through the Summer Youth Employment Program, Douglas has to audition for a dancing role where he was selected to dance, and get paid for what he love. During this time Douglas also danced with the Children's Aid Society in the south Bronx. As the end of the summer approached Douglas later went to audition at Harlem's Hospital Dance Leadership Program where he received a full scholarship for his tenure. While there he also took classes at Black River Dance Studio's a few blocks away taught by Walter Steele. After graduating out of HHDLP, Douglas began to explore his options taking classes at Broadway Dance Center, Peridance, Ripley Grier, and other studios across NYC. To this day douglas still dances alongside some reputable dancers and choreographers. He's also booked jobs with artist such as well. Douglas still dances and also teaches privately and open to the public in Harlem. Currently Douglas also resides in one of New York's only artist residences on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, El Barrio's Artspace : PS 109 which provides housing for artist.
