Completely child-proof materials don't exist.

But as a mother myself, and someone who designs for families every day, I know which materials are more forgiving than others.

In this case, that meant selecting a dining table that's easier to clean, and far less likely to show the wear that naturally comes with arts and crafts, family dinners, furry paws, and little hands.

No more tip-toeing around fancy furniture or too-delicate finishes. We'll find you premium pieces that you and your family can actually 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦 with.

The inspiration for this sunroom was extra special.

A model ship that our client’s husband built with his grandfather, something his family had treasured for years.

So rather than asking, “What style should this room be?” we asked, “How can this piece shape the space around it?”

From there, the room naturally took on a “new traditional” style to complement the vessel, juxtaposing traditional pieces with clean-lined silhouettes and bold, geometric patterns.

A luxurious look and feel, without the wear and tear.

We selected a beautiful Belvedere Quartzite slab for the island countertop, complete with a leathered finish. This type of stone is special. Dramatic veining with sweeping, organic patterns make it appear like marble. But unlike marble, it's far less susceptible to etching from common kitchen culprits like vinegar, wine, lemon juice, and cleaning supplies.

It's a great example of the balance we look for in materials; refined, and able to stand up to real family life.

Some people think "functional" has to be bland or utilitarian. We dispel that theory one kitchen design at a time.

One of the biggest misconceptions we see is that a hardworking kitchen can't also feel warm and nuanced. This space proves otherwise.

A dedicated coffee station. Mesh-front cabinetry designed to store produce. Pull-out drawers that keep everyday essentials organized and within reach. Generous prep space and a layout that allows multiple people to use the kitchen comfortably at the same time.

And because practicality doesn't have to come at the expense of beauty, we paired those decisions with timeless materials like unlacquered brass, creamy stone, white oak, and softly painted cabinetry.

The best kitchens don't make you choose between function and aesthetics. They deliver both.
