I’m getting ready to teach an ink making class at the Mediterranean Garden society, here in Greece. One ancient pigment we will discover is Verdigris (which apparently means Green-Greek after the patina of the ancient statues… ) from the electricians discards. And perhaps other waste that comes with rewriting a house, soot ink from winter fires and ink from flora and bark and compost ink from kitchen waste. If you happen to be in the Ionian islands on May 4th I’ll be here experimenting. garden.society

This Wild Plum Tree (Prunus Rosaceae) inspired me deeply. A paper design came out of it. I studied the ornamental shape with its hanging branches full of edible fruit. Here is the after and the before.

My friend and incredible Ayurvedic practitioner and chef was one of the first people to install our ‘Aibana’ paper. Browsing her lovely website this morning (from Greece); for her Cirtus Furikake recipe and came across this beautiful image. Her work resonates with the making of this paper, folded and dipped in indigo.
