I’m excited about this design—it’s a collaboration between Expression Fiber Arts and NCD. The yarn is a merino-silk blend, technically sport weight, but I’m using it as fi*****ng weight. I’m working it on US 2 (2.75 mm) needles.
Would you prefer to see step-by-step photos, or is it better to see the finished design only?

A beautiful package just arrived from Junction Fiber Mill, and I couldn’t be more excited! 🧶
Inside were 2 skeins of yarns for me to try out and explore. As a designer, few things are more inspiring than opening a bag of new yarn and imagining all the possibilities—textures, colors, stitches, and shapes that could become something truly special. I can’t wait to start swatching and see what kind of design these yarns will inspire.
Junction Fiber Mill is located in White River Junction, Vermont, where a small team of passionate fiber lovers produces high-quality yarn from American wool. The mill was founded by two sheep farmers who wanted to celebrate the natural beauty of wool while supporting local farms and the fiber community. Their yarns are made from carefully sourced domestic wool and are often hand-dyed in rich, unique colorways.
One of the things I admire most about their work is their dedication to authentic wool.
And I already know what I’ll be designing with them: a colorwork cardigan. I’m very curious to see how these yarns behave on the needles and how the colors will work together in a stranded pattern.
Now I’m curious about your opinion too: what do you love most in a colorwork cardigan? Bold contrast, subtle tones, traditional motifs, or something more modern?
For now, I’m just enjoying the inspiration that comes with beautiful yarn and dreaming up the next design. Stay tuned! ✨

The owner of the LYS announced a competition: you have to knit something using two skeins like these, and a photo of the finished piece will take part in a public vote. The winner is the one who receives the most votes.

I’d like to enter the competition with my own design, so I chose two very different skeins. It’s fi*****ng weight, 1.75 oz / 273 yds, 80% wool and 20% silk.

I’m looking forward to your ideas—especially because I’m planning to publish the pattern later in my shop as well!

Subscribers to my newsletter have already heard that I’ve released a new shawl pattern called Wynara.
My yarn is 400 m/440yds 100 g/3.5oz , one skein per color.
When designing it, my goal was to use both colors fully and create a pattern that’s easy to knit yet still interesting.
Fortunately, I achieved both goals — and the shawl turned out very striking.
Thanks to the stretchy lace pattern, it can be blocked to a relatively large size. Mine could have stretched even more, but I didn’t want to overdo it — as you can see in the photos, it’s already beautifully large.
The pattern is easy to follow: after one section, you don’t even need to look at the chart and can knit it from memory.
You’ll need two fi*****ng-weight skeins in total — feel free to experiment with color combinations you might not usually pair. One skein can be gradient, the other solid — the possibilities are nearly endless.
I’ll soon be hosting a contest for those who purchase and knit the shawl from the pattern — I promise it will be worth joining!
The pattern is available with a 20% discount using the code feb0420 on both Ravelry and Payhip.

The Aurum pullovers created during the test knit turned out so beautifully diverse! They were made from all kinds of yarns — always carefully matching the gauge specified in the pattern, of course.
You can see darker-on-top / lighter-on-bottom versions and the reverse as well, plus both variegated and solid color combinations. Each one has its own unique charm 🙂 That’s what makes this design so exciting — it truly transforms depending on your color choices.
To my greatest joy, every single tester was happy with their finished sweater and genuinely loves wearing it — and I couldn’t be happier either. It has definitely been one of my most successful test knits!
Today is the last day to get the pattern at the introductory discount price. Coupon code: aurum20

You can purchase it here (PayPal required):

It will be a long story — because the Aurum Pullover has been a long journey. ✨

Some designs come together quickly. This one didn’t. Aurum lived in my sketchbook, in swatches, in half-knit yokes, and in my head for months before it finally became the sweater I knew it could be. I tried different motif placements, adjusted proportions, reworked shaping, and knit samples until everything felt balanced: engaging to knit, flattering to wear, and satisfying from the first cast-on to the last stitch.

From the beginning, I imagined this sweater in rich, hand-dyed color. That’s why this release is extra special: the Aurum Pullover was created in collaboration with Malabrigo Yarn. Their yarns are loved all over the world, and designing with those colors in mind was pure joy. The depth and subtle tonal shifts work beautifully with the stranded motifs and textures of this pullover.

That said, you absolutely do not have to use Malabrigo. Use whatever yarn you love and trust. I know knitters from many different countries will cast on with many different yarns and color choices — and honestly, that’s one of the most exciting parts for me. Seeing how the same design transforms through your personal choices is always inspiring.

I wanted a yoke that feels interesting but not overwhelming. Something rhythmic. Something that keeps you engaged without feeling complicated. It might feel a bit tricky at the very beginning while you get into the structure, but once it clicks, the knitting becomes very intuitive and enjoyable.

This sweater was designed to be worn — not just admired. Cozy, comfortable, and versatile enough for everyday life, but with enough detail to make it feel special. The kind of pullover you reach for again and again.

To celebrate the release, the Aurum Pullover pattern will be available at a special introductory price for a limited time. If you’ve been waiting for a new sweater project, this is the best moment to jump in. After the introductory period, the pattern will move to its regular price. Coupon code: aurum20, valid until Febr. 25, midnight EST.

And of course, we won’t be knitting alone. There will be a dedicated Knit-Along group where we can share progress, yarn choices, questions, and finished sweaters. I love seeing how a design travels across the world — different languages, different knitters, different interpretations — all connected by the same pattern.

Special thanks to my wonderful testers for bringing this design to life. Truly. This sweater would not be what it is without you. I’m so grateful for your time, your skill, your honesty, and your enthusiasm. Thank you for trusting my design and for putting so much care into every stitch. 💛

I truly hope you’ll enjoy knitting the Aurum Pullover as much as I loved designing it. I can’t wait to see your versions, your colors, and your yarn choices. This is going to be fun. 💛
