Calico Wallpaper

"Who ever said that pleasure wasn't functional?" - Charles Eames Calico Wallpaper is a designer of bespoke wallpaper.

Founded
in Brooklyn, New York in 2013 by creative and life-partners Rachel
and Nick Cope, our process combines artisanal methods from the
decorative arts with innovative digital technologies. The result is an
entirely customized and non-repeating wall mural. We aim to raise wallpaper to the status of art through their original use of gilded metallic colors and a buoyant style which creates depth and
movement. Our company has worked with a global roster of leading designers and architects. We work closely with our clients to realize their design vision to achieve dramatic and exclusive installations.

Gorgeous install of Eden at this year’s Brooklyn Heights Designer Showhouse. Union Works transformed the entry and living room in this historic brownstone to create a space that feels accumulated over time and travels through multiple eras of design.

The showhouse is open to the public Thursdays through Sundays until Nov 1.

Aurora reflects on the infinite variation found within the daily cycle of dawn and dusk. Shown here in the bold Oblo colorway, the collection takes on a richer intensity, enveloping the interior in atmospheric color and capturing the fleeting beauty of a sky in transition.

Flowing brushstrokes and ephemeral layers of color transform the walls in this serene bedroom by into an immersive skyscape.

Inspired by shifting light and the expansive beauty of the sky, Atmosphere captures a sense of quiet movement, bringing depth and visual meditation into the interior.

Estuary began as a series of original watercolor paintings, with pigment left to bleed, settle, and layer organically before being translated into Calico Wallpaper’s signature mural format.

Presented in six colorways, Brackish, Confluence, Estuarine, Sounding, Widelight, and Undertow, each palette offers a distinct interpretation of the collection’s exploration of water, migration, memory, and the evolving meaning of home.

Estuary marks Priya Ahluwalia's first exploration into home. Translating her distinctive visual language from original hand-painted artwork into immersive environments.

Moving between the spontaneity of watercolor and the precision of digital refinement, each composition preserves the depth, movement, and character of the original paintings while responding to the scale and atmosphere of an interior.

Shown here in Undertow, one of six colorways.
