Last year we had the honor of our Broadway Apartment project being selected for World’s Best III 64 Interiors from Around the Globe book published by Beta Publishing.

Located in downtown Manhattan the apartment was inspired by the Art Deco bones of the building. One other strong driving force was a thought of the presentation of art works by Alex Katz, Richard Serra, and Jesse Morgan among others.

The project has been featured in AD, Elle Decor, Homes & Gardens and we are so pleased and grateful for the continued recognition.

Last days of construction at this pool house in East Hampton. Designed to complement the main house, it is positioned precisely at a 90-degree angle to the primary structure, it elegantly frames the pool area, relying on alignments in the horizontal plane.

The materiality and dimensionality present in both buildings give a sense of oneness: natural cedar on the outside, white oak on the inside, concrete floors throughout. All exterior and interior wood planks have consistent width, enabled by a width-adjustable wall assembly, with no corner cuts. The continuous tonality of the concrete softens their rhythm. The play of positive and negative space is adorned by lighting in steel and paper.

Custom site-specific furnishings are still in progress.

Highlight of the summer last couple of years, Galerie Sardine now presents KRITIKA MANCHANDA & RAFAEL PRIETO: THERE, WHEN, along with JUSTIN BRADSHAW’s ever-ephemeral, intimate works. Themes of memory and space are lingering among the furnishings, lamps, and objects from Somerset House. Such a pleasure to experience this effortless intention.

Tonal, monolithic private bath in a current East Hampton project, minimal in detailing, with classic materiality and fittings. 
Large plains of travertine and plaster are soft yet decisively geometric. The vanity is inspired by a bibliothèque cabinet, its pure form underlined by the rhythm of hand-cast hardware. The hidden shower drain allows for an uninterrupted stone floor, while the flush rain shower gives presence to heritage fittings. Barely translucent ceramic wall lights are layered in.

I so enjoy exploring this pull between the ephemeral, future-bound lightness and the grounding of the past, always balancing on the edge.
