One of the most frustrating things about perennial summer flowers can be their short bloom times, sometimes only lasting for days or weeks. But not with Rose Mallow Hibiscus - I filmed this a few weeks ago and it’s already been blooming constantly for at least 2 months, and I’m I’m optimistic it’ll keep going while the going’s hot. Having a cluttered, unfinished, and utilitarian garage is one of the most depressing conventions in most single family homes. If it’s your house, that’s the first thing you’re going to see almost every single time you come home when you park your car. So in our projects I like to elevate that experience by adding beautiful, functional storage that keeps the clutter at bay, keeps everything you need easily accessible, and creates a beautiful and welcoming experience the second your open your garage door.

One of my favorite ways to spruce up an existing powder room that lacks character is by adding wallpaper. This mural wallpaper called Mineral is from HOLLY HUNT Design and is made from reflective mica chips that shimmer as you move through the space.

To create a high-impact transformation, try a wallpaper with a textured finish, fun organic pattern (to break up the geometry of the small space), or an unusual material composition. And remember to pick something water-resistant for wet areas.

Endless Summer Hydrangeas are still one of my favorite hydrangeas out of all the different varieties out there. They bloom profusely, have a full, tidy growth habit, and seem to be happy in most places where they get some afternoon shade.

Two of the best things you can do to keep your Endless Summer Hydrangeas looking lush and colorful all season long are to avoid over-pruning them (except when deadheading spent blooms to encourage a new flush of blooms) and add a slow release fertilizer like Espoma Flower-tone to encourage blooms all the way through late summer.

Ribbed for your pleasure.

A few things that I did to make this game room feel fun, inviting, and unforgettable for the family that would be using it:
1 - Used ribbed or channel tufted elements throughout to create a unifying design element - the wallcovering, the channel tufted banquette, the poker table base, etc.
2 - Added warm, fiery furnishings and upholstery to create high-contrast with the blue walls and ceiling
3 - Created a high-touch, tactile experience by installing a 3-D textured velvet wallcovering, lustrous silk blend rug, and silky velvet banquette seating
