Easy Candied Carrots
These sweet and buttery candied carrots are a delightful side dish that will brighten up any meal!
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds baby carrots
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
Directions:
1. Start by placing the baby carrots in a large pot. Add the water and sprinkle the salt on top. Bring the mixture to a boil.
2. Once boiling, reduce the heat, cover the pot, and let it simmer until the carrots are tender, which should take about 15 minutes.
3. After the carrots are soft, drain them and return them to the pot.
4. Add the brown sugar and butter to the pot with the carrots. Stir everything together until well mixed.
5. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, for about 5 minutes, or until the sugar has dissolved and the carrots are beautifully coated and glazed.
6. If you’re feeling adventurous, sprinkle a bit of cinnamon on top before serving for an extra touch of warmth.
