Indulge in the rich, decadent flavors of Red Wine Truffles! 🍷🍫 A perfect balance of smooth chocolate and bold red wine, these truffles are the ultimate treat for any occasion.
Ingredients:
8 oz dark chocolate (70% cocoa), chopped
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup red wine (a dry red wine like Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot works best)
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
Cocoa powder or chopped nuts (for coating, optional)
Instructions:
Heat the cream: In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer. Remove from the heat.
Melt the chocolate: Add the chopped dark chocolate to the warm cream and let it sit for a minute. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
Add the wine and butter: Stir in the red wine and butter until fully combined. The butter adds a silky smooth texture, while the wine infuses the truffles with a rich depth of flavor. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature.
Chill the mixture: Once the mixture has cooled, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 2-3 hours, or until it becomes firm enough to scoop.
Shape the truffles: Using a melon baller or spoon, scoop out small portions of the chilled chocolate mixture and roll them into balls. If the mixture is too sticky, you can lightly dampen your hands with water to make rolling easier.
Coat the truffles: Roll the truffles in cocoa powder, chopped nuts, or shredded coconut to coat them. This step is optional, but it adds extra flavor and texture to the truffles.
Serve: Place the truffles in a lined box or plate and let them firm up in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes before serving.
Enjoy your Red Wine Truffles—the perfect combination of chocolate and wine for a sophisticated treat!
