When partnership meets purpose, real change happens.

For years, our artisan partners have shared one barrier holding them back: English fluency.
Not anymore.

Thanks to our partnership with Wilderness, we were able to launch our first ever English literacy program this year. 20 women from different backgrounds, skill-levels and cooperatives across Rwanda are gaining the skills to communicate directly with visitors, connect with fellow artisans and brands abroad, and speak proudly about their work in their own words.

The women are ready. The opportunities are growing. And this is only the beginning.

Wilderness and Indego Africa have teamed up to empower Rwandan women entrepreneurs through a new partnership focused on education, business development, and access to market opportunities.

Since 2016, our Economic Inclusion for Refugees program has worked to address the unique livelihood and financial challenges Burundian and Congolese refugees face by equipping them with the skills and resources to become successful artisan entrepreneurs, whether they remain in Rwanda or return home. ⁠
