When the longarm isn’t running the sewing machine is.
I had a big bin of batiks and it was hard to be sure that every piece of this color wheel is made out of a different piece of fabric.
It is not foundation paper pieced. Every piece of fabric was cut individually and sewn in place as I went.
The background has been seen for some time. Now it is time to piece it all together.
There is now a permanent color wheel that I cannot misplace.

This was my project over the last couple of days. It isn’t finished. I figure that I’d give an update.
I intended to do the entire project with rulers and free motion quilting, but some of the seams are 10 to 16 layers of fabric. It is nearly impossible to keep the ruler flat. The ruler slipped a couple of times and those stitches will come out and be restitched.
So I changed it up a bit.
I am where I am because two people had faith in me that I didn’t see at first.
One was my mother. The other was the first person that I quilted for that was outside of my family.

Here we go!
I pieced this beautiful rose. It is a pattern from Legit Kits. The name of the pattern is Mini Rose. I am using rulers from Michael Quilts to quilt a Baptist Fan in the blue background. I will do free motion quilting in the rose.
This pattern had some pieces that were so small that an M&M mini would cover the fabric.

A bit ago I posted a photo of the back of a quilt that was a new pattern that I wasn’t able to show the front of until it was released.
The pattern has been released!
